    If you are interested in forming a new club or organization, please email StudentLife@bccc.edu. New clubs and organizations need a name, constitution, proposed academic year budget, advisor(s), and five students for their executive board. 

Clubs and Orgs Summaries

  • Anime Club

    Advisor: Anthony Almond

    The Anime Club is an organization that works together to foster a welcoming environment where members can explore their shared passion for anime, manga, and Japanese culture. The club ensures that everyone is included and that the environment stays active, engaging, and aligned with members' interests, while representing the club to external parties such as BCCC, sponsors, and other organizations. The club's collaborative efforts are to create a fun, inclusive, and enriching experience for all members.

    Anthropology & Sociology Club (ASC)

    Advisor: Dr. Boyd Servio-Mario

    The ASC seeks to encourage dialogue beyond the classroom, creating educational and personally enriching interactions between students, faculty, and the larger community. ASC provides students with the opportunities for affirmation to express their interests relevant to society and culture, awareness to make the campus more knowledgeable of the diversity of cultures and social issues present in our community, and action through putting our education to work as allies for social justice.

    Fashion Club

    Advisor: D. FitzGerald Smith

    The Fashion Club was created and organized by BCCC Fashion Design program students. The club welcomes all individuals from the campus community who want to learn and share a passion for fashion.

    Gender and Sexualities Alliance (GSA)

    Advisor: Jamie Gillis

    The objectives of the GSA are to create a safe space for LGBTQIA+ students on campus, promote awareness and outreach and strive to build a more inclusive BCCC community.

    STEM for Scholars Club

    Advisor: Dr. Anil Malaki

    STEM for Scholars aims to bring students closer to the STEM community in Baltimore and the surrounding area. The club hosts STEM network events, after-class sessions, and provides information for members to learn about their career options including educational pathways and jobs. The focus of the club is to develop members’ skills and self-confidence, while providing them with strategic information and networking opportunities.

    History Club

    Advisor: Rebecca Johns-Hackett

    The History Club is one of the oldest clubs at BCCC. It was established to raise the level of awareness of history. The club serves to inform and educate the BCCC community about the foundation of life’s experiences that shaped and molded what society is and who we are today.

    International Students Club (ISC)

    Advisors: Dr. Kim Sung, Will Hug, Daniel Izume

    The ISC works to foster intercultural understanding and good relations among the student population at BCCC. It also acts as a support system for international students while helping them adjust culturally and academically at BCCC. The club participates in and initiates activities and projects in the interest of the members, BCCC and the community.

    PantherX Dance Club

    Advisor: Thomas Phenix

    The PantherX Dance Club provides a safe space for all members of the BCCC community who are interested in the fundamentals of dance and step. This group brings various forms of art through music and dance as a method of inclusion and experience.

    Plant Based Living Club (PBL)

    Advisor: Aquila Evans

    PBL’s mission is to help people understand the climate benefits of participating in a plant-based way of living including food and animal welfare. The club aims to destigmatize the plant-based dietary world and help integrate healthier ways of eating by introducing substitutes for animal-based ingredients, easy everyday recipes, and more.

    National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS)

    Advisor: Dr. Phillip Gatling Jr. 
    Co-Advisor: Valerie Grays

    NSLS is an organization that provides a life-changing leadership program that helps students achieve personal growth, career success, and empowers them to have a positive impact in their community. This organization, offering leadership development with a set criteria of high scholastic achievements and grade point average, officially launched at BCCC in the fall of 2024. With an initial membership of 61 new students during the fall 2024 semester. BCCC is only the second community college in the entire state of Maryland to establish a chapter in its more than 23 years of existence nationally.

    Student Leadership Club (SLC)

    Advisor: Dr. Phillip Gatling Jr. 
    Co-Advisor: Valerie Grays

    The SLC has four main purposes: (1) to orient and mentor students at BCCC; (2) to offer service to the BCCC community whether through the presence of student leaders at institution events or service projects; (3) to act as a programming board and provide engagement opportunities each semester; and (4) to provide leadership training to students in the program. The development of leadership skills encompasses the cultivation of communication, time, management and interpersonal skills. Student leaders are involved in every facet of BCCC, from freshman orientation to graduation week festivities.
