Advising
-
Advising is an interactive relationship between advisors and students that helps students identify, plan for, and achieve their short and long-term educational and career goals. The Student Success Center (SSC) provides comprehensive advising services that empower students to realize their potential and make appropriate academic decisions.
Advisors empower students by:
- Strengthening students' understanding of and commitment to their educational goal.
- Connecting students to support services to overcome barriers.
- Assist students with developing educational plans compatible with their life goals.
- Helping students interpret degree requirements and choose the most suitable academic alternatives.
- Monitor academic progress and recommend appropriate resources related to academic and career success.
There are three ways to meet with an advisor:
- In-Person Drop-In Service (Liberty Heights campus, Main Building, room 020)
- Virtual Help Desk
- Limited appointments are released each week online. If you do not see any available, they are likely full, and you should prepare to come in-person or join the Virtual Help Desk (VHD). Appointments are not provided in August and January.
