Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS®)

  • TEAS Examination:

The Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) is a multiple-choice assessment of basic academic knowledge in reading, mathematics, science, English, and language usage. The objectives assessed on the TEAS exam are those which nurse educators deemed most appropriate and relevant to measure entry level skills and abilities of nursing program applicants.

Please note: Students applying to BCCC's Nursing and Health Professions programs must have all program prerequisite course requirements and transfer credits indicated on your BCCC academic record before taking the TEAS exam.

Students must register with both ATI and BCCC. Please complete the following three steps:

Step I. Register with ATI at www.atitesting.com

Create an account (profile) online. Once the username and password has been created, schedule the test appointment and pay the required fee. Please remember the username and password; it will be required on the test day. (DO NOT proceed to STEP II until registration and payment for STEP I is confirmed)

    Step II. Register with BCCC

Select TEAS (You must select the same exam date as chosen for ATI). Schedule the test appointmentand pay the required fee.

Fees must be paid online in advance of the test date. Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable

    Step III. Exam Day Requirements

Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the testing time for check-in. Late arrivals will not be permitted to test.

    Please bring the following:

    • Photo ID: To be admitted to your testing session, you will need to present proper photo identification, such as a driver’s license, passport, or green card. You will not be admitted to the test if your ID does not meet the following requirements: government-issued, current photograph, examinee signature, and permanent address. The name on the ID must match exactly the name on the registration. A credit card photo or student ID does not meet these criteria.

Please review the Test Center Policies.

The Test Center will provide a secure location for your items.

    Accommodations:

The BCCC Testing Center provides test accommodations for all candidates who qualify for non-standard test administration.

BCCC students who believe they qualify for special accommodations should first contact the Disability Support Services Center to submit the appropriate documentation before scheduling a testing appointment.Appropriate documentation should be submitted no later than 4 weeks prior to testing date.

I agree that I have read and understand the information listed above. I have registered with ATI and I am ready to register for the TEAS Exam with BCCC.
