Retest Policy

Students are permitted to retake each portion of the Accuplacer once. You must wait 48 hours from the first attempt before presenting for the second attempt. It is highly encouraged that students review for the test before each attempt. BCCC will use the highest score from each attempt to determine your placement.

Students will not be allowed to retest once they are enrolled in the recommended course from the placement test results. Students enrolled in the recommended course may follow the appeal process for approval to retest.

The appeal process is as follows:

• The Departmental Chair for English will make the decision concerning reading and English.
• The Departmental Chair for math will make the decision concerning math. 

Please contact the department chairs for consideration and approval to retest within their departments.
