1098-T Information

  • The Office of Student Accounts at Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) is pleased to announce that the 1098-Ts for the calendar year 2023 will be mailed by Heartland/ECSI to the permanent address on file for all eligible students. An electronic version will be made available through the New Panther Portal. The 1098-T form provides information regarding the payments made during the calendar year towards qualified tuition and related expenses (QTRE).

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) requires all colleges and universities to request SSNs or ITINs from enrolled students to comply with Form 1098-T reporting requirements that pertain to educational tax credits (pursuant to the Taxpayer Relief Act of 1997). To learn more about this form please consult IRS Publication 970, Tax Benefits for Education.

Please visit New Panther Portal to access an electronic copy of your 1098-T statement. Select 1098-T once logged into your student portal. Select the tax year 2023. To retrieve your 1098-T statement online, you will need the following:

      • Banner ID
      • Banner Password

You will have the option to print the document, select the tax year (2023) and in the top right-hand corner select the printer icon.

If you need technical assistance (e.g., difficulty logging in using the username and password as described), please contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@bccc.edu or 410-462-7411.

Always consult with a tax advisor to determine the tax-deductible amount.

We appreciate your attention to this important matter and wish you the best in your academic endeavors!
