Program Objectives

The following program objectives are designed to provide your child with the continuous support he/she will need to be a successful learner and motivated student prepared for college after high school:
1. Academic Performance-Grade Point Average (GPA)
Participants served during the project year will have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or better on a four-point scale at the end of each school year.
2. Academic Performance on Standardized Test:
All UBMS participants will have achieved at theachieved proficient level during high school on state assessment exams in Reading/Language Arts and Math.
3. Secondary School Retention:
All current students will continue to participate once admitted into the program throughout their high school years.
4. Secondary School graduation (Rigorous Curriculum):
All current and prior UBMS participants who graduated from high school during the school year with a regular secondary school diploma will complete a rigorous secondary school program of study.
5. Postsecondary Enrollment:
All students expected to graduate during the school year will enroll in a program of post-secondary education by the fall term immediately following the expected graduation date from high school.
6. Postsecondary Retention:
It is expected that all UB participants who enrolled in a program of post-secondary education during the fall term immediately following high school graduation will be enrolled for the fall term of the second academic year.
7. Postsecondary Completion:
Participants who enrolled in a program of postsecondary education, by the fall term immediately following high school graduation or by the next academic term (e.g., spring term) as a result of acceptance by deferred enrollment, will attain either an associate or bachelor’s degree with six years following graduation from high school.
